Air quality in national capital continues to remain under 'poor' category

The Air Quality in the national capital Delhi continued to remain under the "poor" category on the fifth consecutive day on Sunday due to the rise in pollutants in the atmosphere. On Sunday morning, the Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 264 in ITO, at 228 in Patparganj, at 235 in RK Puram and 246 in Rohini, all four in 'poor' category, according to Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) data.

The Air Quality Index (AQI) between 0-50 is considered good, 51-100 is satisfactory, 101-200 is moderate, 201-300 is poor, 301-400 is very poor and 401-500 is severe. Last year, there were several occasions when the AQI in Delhi breached the 500-mark/
